The Study Centre

SINCE its establishment, history-ontheweb has gained an enviable reputation
as a no nonsense web resource. Under constant development, it now has
over 230 work-assignment articles and access is remarkably inexpensive.

Alf Wilkinson, the Historical Association/Actis Internet training officer wrote way back in April 2000,
‘… [history-ontheweb] is quickly becoming an indispensable one-stop shop
for discerning AS and A2 students and teachers’
and Ferl/Becta report that the site is
‘… the best of the History magazine web sites’

Study Centre content and structure
To make the site even more user friendly for teachers and students, in August 2002
it was restructured and the Study Centre created in which the full range of
study components are collected and integrated. The eight sections in the Study Centre,
including some 230 work-assignment articles, are as below.

European History
German History: nineteenth century
German History: twentieth century
Russian History: nineteenth century
Russian History: twentieth century

  • Related concepts, terms and ideologies

  • Study advice and advice on answering structured and source-based questions

  • Direct access to the acclaimed Advanced History students’ study guide (government endorsed)

student-friendly, new perspective style include:
