At Newman, we offer everything you could want when studying for your degree

First, we are committed to academic excellence and opportunity for all in every course. We are able to keep standards high by offering a carefully chosen range of degrees to our students, all of whom receive close personal attention during their time with us.

Because we are a small, close-knit community, we can offer an exceptionally secure and welcoming environment. All our facilities, including accommodation, are located on a self-contained campus that offers both comfort and security.

Yet, despite our modest size, our library and study support facilities are excellent. Equally you will never find a lack of leisure activities, as we are not far from the centre of Birmingham, Britain’s second largest city.

Travel to other parts of the country is also extremely convenient as we are close to the M5 motorway, whilst Birmingham offers excellent rail and air links to all parts of the country and beyond.

So with Newman, you get the perfect balance of big city facilities and a friendly community lifestyle, plus personal attention whenever you need it.

Newman College has 1,300 students and approximately 40 History undergraduates each year (30 female/10 male in 2000/1).
Employment rates (1999 graduates):
BEd/BA (Hons) 96 per cent
BA (Joint Honours) students 89 per cent
