centre of England. There is easy access from the M1, A14, or by rail from London
(Euston) or Birmingham.
The University College has approximately 10,000 students.

purpose-built campus is well-located in the northern part of town and is much
admired by those who visit it. All first year students are offered places in
University accommodation.
There are between 40 and 60 full-time history students in
each year, some of whom are studying only history, others of whom are taking it
as part of a broader degree programme. The student come from all parts of the
United Kingdom, as well as from Europe and America. The students encompass all
age groups and about 60 percent are female.
